Baptism
Parents are expected to attend and participate in a session of catechetical preparation for the Baptism of their child. This session is held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 P.M. in the RCIA room in the parish office building. Baptisms are usually celebrated each Sunday at 12:00 P.M. after the 11:00 A.M. Mass. When there is a need, other arrangements can be made. It is necessary to contact the parish office (402-731-4694) to make arrangements to attend the preparation session.
For Adult Baptism please see The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
Reconciliation
Reconciliation services occur on Saturdays between 3:30 P.M. and 4:30 P.M.
First Reconciliation takes place in second grade for children.
Holy Communion
The sacrament of First Holy Communion is celebrated for children in the school and religious education program in the 2nd grade.
For information about receiving this sacrament as an adult please see The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
Confirmation
At the present time in the Archdiocese of Omaha, Confirmation is celebrated when young people are in the eighth grade. Students and families are expected to participate in the preparation process which begins in the seventh grade.
Confirmation is also celebrated as part of the initiation rites at the Easter Vigil liturgy with those adults who have participated in the RCIA program.
Marriage
Archdiocesan norms require a minimum of six months of preparation. It is suggested that couples contact the parish office (402-731-4694) from six months to one year before the marriage is scheduled to take place. There are real advantages to an in depth preparation process over a period of time. The preparation includes an initial meeting in the parish, an Archdiocesan Pre-session at which the FOCUS assessment is taken. This instrument is the focal point of the individual preparation sessions in the parish. In addition, it is mandatory that every couple preparing for marriage participate in one of the Archdiocesan Marriage Education Programs.
Anointing of the Sick
Contact the parish priest, 402-731-4694, when there is a desire to share in and celebrate this Sacrament of God's comforting presence and healing care in times of sickness and serious injury.
Holy Orders
Those who are interested in entering the priesthood should contact Fr. Paul Hoesing, Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Omaha, 402-558-3100
